Rebuilding Together receives $3,400 emergency funding donation to complete roofing project
HAVERHILL, Mass (June 30, 2010) — A charitable roof replacement project was at risk until Haverhill Bank stepped in with a donation of $3,400 last week. The Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill Inc. was in the process of replacing the roof at 69 Harrison St. when it ran out of funding. Rebuilding Together President Bob Des Marais put in a call to Haverhill Bank in hopes of gathering the remaining money needed to complete the job.
Rebuilding Together aims to improve the homes and lives of local, low-income homeowners by donating time, labor and materials needed to complete vital repair projects. Typically 26 projects are completed per year.

“Usually, all projects are completed in April, however in this case, we ran out of money. Thanks to a special gift from Haverhill Bank we were still able to provide someone with renovations needed for a safe and secure roof. Now he can look forward to a non-leaking winter,” said Des Marais.
“Haverhill Bank is happy to lend a helping hand to one of its neighbors,” said Haverhill Bank President and CEO Thomas L. Mortimer. “It’s important to remember that we’re all members of the same community working toward a common cause,” he said.
